 I will probably come back and put more details on this a little later, but here goes. Handheld shot, took the shot from RAW and used Canon's software to Monochrome then Sepia the monochrome (probably would prefer to do this all in PS, but have the 40d issue with RAW until the firmware update.) Then took the JPEG conversion into PS and Sharpened through a Unsharp mask. Saved it down a couple of times with quality until I got it down under 150kb.


Ok back to comment now that the challenge is done. :) Huge smile I am thrilled for this my first challenge. Some great comments and it just really gets me excited to get out there and shoot more! Thanks all for comments and votes!

Really neat shot, love the symmetry, the only thing that i could see improving the shot at all would be to add some contrast, really though a great shot.

What I like best about this are what some might call 'blown' highlights (I say dramatic) and the silly face on the door. Were it mine, I might have used selective color to pull down the blacks a little. Try 'save for web' next time, it may help with image quality. And no matter how long you stay here, be yourself.
