Jean-Baptiste Chardin was a French painter who was known for his still life work although it had little in common with the other artists of the Rococco period of the 18th century. He favored the simple life and interior representations. I found a gravure print of his The White Teapot and this image, reminded me of his work.

A gently capture. Gotta love the gentle highlights and the low key look. I like the line of light going across the bottom and the black background is a nice finishing touch.

Jutilda - Simply excellent use of low key. The softness of the pears and the brightness of the reflection off the grapes provides such wonderful balance.

I like the composition and the lighting, but feel the DOF is way too shallow - either all soft or more DOF.
