I have always been impressed with the textured bricks, embossing and tile roof of this building. The picture was overexposed in the camera, but still needed some lightening with curves, slight increase in contrast and color saturation and unsharp mask.

beautiful old house. I would have liked to be able to see the roof and stone textures more clearly

snow looks blueish and the trees whilst giving you some sort of frame don;t work for me.

Perhaps not the most ideal moment of light you might have chosen for this, though i appreciate that with snow everywhere and an over-cast day it isn't easy to escape that very general light. The result is that much sense of texture has been washed out if the image.

I would have liked a tighter shot of the roof. That's the real texture to me.

A closer shot might have helped the viewer to really see and feel the texture.

Hey I know that place... my family lives about 15 minutes from there. Maybe you should have walked a bit closer, lost the trees.

I understand the purpose of the picture but I think that if you were to get a close up of the roof or the brick, this photo would fit the challenge even more. Nice house by the way!

I see the texture in the roof, stone and railing, but the photo itself just seems a bit flat to me. No real interest. I'm not crazy about the composition - with the right side showing the other building behind. It just seems like the potential is maybe there, but it needs different composition and bumping up the colors a bit.

Needed more focus on the bricks. Nice "frame" by the trees.

[World Record Attempt]
+ I like the idea of using the trees as a frame. There are more than enough textures. The house is nice (is it yours?).
- Colours don't seem very natural (possibly caused by using the levels function too much in PS?), there is overexposure in the sky and the image itself is a little soft.
