 these roses were on my mother's grave, she died last june .. it's her birthday today .. when i took this photograph the roses had been on her grave for at least a week and the nights were really cold, yet they looked like they'd just been picked ..
this is the original photograph ..

i brought in three other photographs i'd taken all when my mother was alive & used them as textures ..


the sky i brought in three times using different blending modes .. i skewed and warped it to get the branches in the right place ..

i'm putting this in our overlays side challenge but i'm not sure that i like it anymore .. maybe too busy and not soft enough for this sort'v thing .

this is a different process i did with the same original photograph ..

I bet your Mum is so proud of you :) This is a lovely way for you to remember your Mum....I wonder if she was a great talker like you?!

I love it and think it's a beautiful tribute and birthday wish for your mum.

If you wanted to soften it you could always try a diffuse glow/gaussian blur overlay and play with gradients...... but I think it's lovely as it is.

Oooooh. I like. But I am also seeing a woman's face (primarily eyes) in the upper left corner. Maybe it's Mum saying it's a good job, and thanks for the gift?
Nice one. I think you did well. I especially like the spiky leafy texture paired with the roses.
