I went to the San Juan islands for my birthday the 9th... Friday Harbor to be exact... by the time we got there on my birthday it was a little late for pictures so I was a bit disappointed as the next day the weather forecast called for a 90% chance of heavy rains... we were planning on leaving by mid afternoon the 10th but to our surprise it was a BEAUTIFUL day and we spent the whole day there taking photos. We found this lighthouse and I got a lot of different shots of it, but I enjoyed this one in particular.
Editing:
RAW image converted into 2 additional exposures... All 3 exposures converted into an HDR and tonemapped in Photomatix, slight rotate and crop, few minor healing brush retouches, BW conversion with virtual photographer in PS, unsharp mask, dodge, burn, neatimage, selective color changes to tweak black and whites, contrast, and added small white border around image.

| The angle here is a fantastic. You really captured the feel of the structure perched proudly on the promontory. The conversion is perfect as it nicely...warmly grasps the shadows and light. Cheers. |

| 7 - Nice image. Like your composition. Difficult, but the lighthouse either softer or sharper - just seems to be 'in between', if that makes sense. |

| Quite beautiful. I particularily like the sky, the blues that look almost black in this view. Maybe just a tad too much foreground. |
