Today we had extremely calm and gray water. It was very overcast and not a whole lot of fun to be out.

This is a shot that would have benefitted from a simple rotation of your camera while taking the shot. What I love is that it looks like the boat is sitting out in the middle of nowhere, and then the duck brings everything back down to reality. I would like to have seen the mast and then a little more space below the duck reflection. Really nice pic for a gray water day!

I feel that this would have been better shot vertical, to include more of the mast and it's reflection. I do like the spot of color that the boat presents against the grey looking water, and the gentle ripples in the reflections.

I like how the vivid colors stand out against the gray water. Who cares if it's a gray day, you did a nice job!

I agree about the weather, not very dynamic on gray days. But you got out and made a very nice photo.

Not much to add to the other comments. I agree about the coot, it's just as if you have two subjects and I prefer the nice colors and the reflections of the boat.

What a peaceful photo. I wish the top of the mast weren't cut off.

But a great day for photography. Now if you could just back that coot aways, have more space to the left and line him up with the bow line...Darn, must be an old coot. Great colours, and I have to applaud the way the mast going out of the picture doesn't distract.

Not a good day? Well it was a good day for the coot! I like this kind of juxtaposition type story so the coot and boat, side by side is okay by me. The shadows and reflections are super on the boat.

Im definately going to have to jump on the band wagon with this one. The photo of the boat and the reflection on the still water would be a perfect composition. The coot is distractiong to the overall flow of this. Great Shot!

Beautiful image of the boat and its reflection. Also like the way the water fades into nothingness in the distance.

As much as I love waterfowl, I would have to concur with the group concensus about the poor coot.

The boat makes a striking image in the water. IMO the coot doesn't add much to this composition. I think I'd crop it out and let the boat stand (sorry) by itself.
