 I'm not sure how this will score. I like the shot for several reasons. I took it with a Canon EOS-5D which I was able to loan from lowonenergywho lives in the same town as me. I started the shoot and after two shots the battery of my flash RF remote quit on me. Because it was a Sunday all the shops were closed so I went to a few gasstations but they didn't have this particular type.
My last resort was Sander who was having an exposition at that moment. So I went there, he didn't have the battery for me, but he offered i used his camera! Hell YEAH!! So it all worked out in the end (now I want a 5D LOL! )

lighting is very simple, softbox on Thomas's right.

Nice portrait. It feels like the white border detracts my eye. I want to focus on his expression but my eye keeps going to the white border. The border has so much more contrast, and so much stronger than the image that it takes away. But I will rate this based upon the image and not the border.

I love the shallow DoF and the sharpness! great bw tones too. only nitpick is that the hair seems sharper than his eye, but that is more of a comment for general portrait work to do. In this instance I think it works fine.
