Really not sure about this one. I'm tired and couldn't quite get achieve what I was trying to do.

Overlays of condensation bubbles in a plastic bottle, mouldy gunge on the back of a noticeboard at work.

the gaze...or stare - or whatever is engaging. I really like it.

This one doesn't work for me as well as your other images. I like the texture you used, and I think I'd like the original image. I feel like I'm missing something when I look at the combination - maybe it's the eyes not being as prominent that makes me uncomfortable.

Quirky!
I agree with the others about the eyes, though. Would like them to have a bit more contrast and clarity.
Tones are nice and the whole makes for a somewhat "disturbed" look.

Very cool. I might've erased a bit over her eyes, so that they are coming through. Isn't this fun?????

I think that this layer works really well with this portrait; we just need to see her eyes a bit more clearly. Try using the eraser tool set to about 30% opacity to start, focusing on just the eyes. I might also try erasing some of the layering effect from the rest of her face and hair, so that we still see the effect, but she's not so hidden behind it (maybe at about 15% opacity). I'm totally new at this too, but it's been really fun experimenting so far. :)

its an interesting image .. i particularly love the way the eyes are looking out, straight into mine .. the textures seem to contribute to that in some way .. a lot of things that we are told not to do often work .. the highlighting on her face works as far as i'm concerned, especially when combined with the textures .. :)
