the dof, crop and great colour of the 'shroom really make it stand out, maybe cropped to much at the top though.i wonder how it would look from a lower angle, showing some of the underside as well as the top? |

Jon- Why are you no longer a chef? Was it do to the use of the wrong kind of these guys on an unsuspecting customer? LOL
I like the color and the grass to contrast the mushroom, but I am not a fan of the short cropping here - It just seems too closed in for me.

John, I certainly would not eat that one - just the color makes it look poisonous. And not to get too technical here, but I think the only point in common between foot fungus and mushrooms is actually their reproduction mode. In fact, they are not part of the same family. Comparing them on the same level is like comparing humans with other mammals.
In all seriousness, I really like this photo: it is very sharp, the DOF is great and the water droplets give it context. My wish for a perfect world: that the crop wasn't as tight and maybe a different angle.
Very good beginning! Can't wait to see what else you'll shoot our way. |

Great clarity, and color, and I love the water droplet on the grass.
Not much to change except maybe a different perspective. |

lol my first thought was of Alice in Wonderland as well. Is it supposed to be a purply-mauve color? Wonderful closeup, and great focus. I do also agree about leaving a little more space above the top of the shroom. |

Is that the real color of this thing? Creepy! LOL
Sweet; love the subject, nice focus
Sour: needs more head room |

I swear I think I see a tiny Alice and caterpillar lurking in the corner...

I share your distaste for mushrooms. Great capture of the texture in the mushroom. I agree that a different perspective might make the image more striking. |

Great clarity, a nice tight frame and the water droplet caught my eye. A different perspective would make it more interesting to me. |

No matter how disgusting you make mushrooms sound I still love them. As a matter a fact this mushroom looks really yummy. Great capture on something you hate but something I love. Great lighting and I also like the water droplet in the grass. |

Oh your reasoning is sooooo silly! Mushrooms are good for you, as is penicillin, which is a mold. Hmmmm.... ;)
I like the contrasting colors and textures, your dof is great, as it usually is. The little water droplet caught my eye, very nice touch. I guess for me, maybe a different angle on the mushroom, or not so close as to see what else is around. (although, there may not have been a darn other thing but grass, huh?) |
