Taken during a class on lighting. The study was white backgrounds.

Enhance-adjust lighting-brightness/contrast-contrast +15

Enhance-adjust lighting-levels(input) 1.05

I used the dodge tool to brighten her eyes

I used the magic lasso tool to select her lips then I used enhance-adjust color-hue/saturation-+10

Added black border and resized for web.

Colors seem little dull and low contrast, otherwise a good portrait

Nice clean shot max, her skin tones look good and even, her hair looks a bit flat, but has some great detail. Her pose looks nice an natural, but the whole photo lacks a bit of sparkle. Perhaps a bit more level adjustments. Hope it goes well for you.

lighting does not sculpt the face...flat lit...

The light is nice on her hair and face, but the pose and expression looks too.. 'posed'. Overall she is too far 'up' in the frame, in my opinion.
