Just a random shot I took this month but for some reason when I was playing around with it I really liked the crop I came up with...I have a funny feeling I will be in the minority though....

I think it's a great shot, and like colorcarnival said: it's underappreciated.

I am surprised this did not score higher. Great composition and the lighting is excellent with still being able to see the details in the feathers. I cannot think of anything else to change except for you to try what Mary said about the eyes. A really good shot which was a bit underappreciated.

"The Old Village Swan"

Is that the Old Swan belonging to the village ?
or the Swan belonging to the Old Village ?

Either way nice tight crop and good catchlight :- )

Nice composition and detail. Nice job on the exposure, black and white being tricky to get right in the same shot. I think the eye could use a bit of dodging to really bring it out; I am something of a fanatic about wanting a creature's eyes to draw mine strongly.
