So I love this image, and I bet you will all hate it, but if it makes you feel any emotion, then I have become successful. I know this won't ribbon, I bet I will get a pretty low score actually, but I am entering this not to score high, but how I imagine the phrase "the beginning of the end".
I hope you enjoy it
PP:raw convert with lightroom,in photoshop i used levels and bumped up highlights and midtones then masked the arm bright back window, side of person and bottem of image with a medium light grey. did 2 contrast layers one at +53, other at +26. another contrast layer at +45 then masked out the knife. made another levels layer and brightened shadows and masked out everything but the knife.I cloned out a little mark on the knife and a scar on the finger and yellow stitching on jeans. then i resized to 640px, USM(300%,0,0.3)then adjusted opacity of USM layer to around 80%. then i added the vignette using lens correction. Then SFW. |

I like the composition, the lighting, the shallow DOF, but the title (if I understand it correctly) is disturbing. I guess you'll get some very low votes and furious comments (people saying "You promote violence against women!" and stuff like that). However, I appreciate the effort and the well thought out setup. The picture tells a story and conveys emotions. And it fits the challenge perfectly. 9. |

not enough attention drawn to the knife. all of the light is on the hand wielding it. |

WOW - just like a murder mystery novel cover. Great idea. Love the title and the harsh yellow lighting behind the hand. I hope she made it out alive. ;~D |
