I didn't vote in this challenge - but I really like how understated this
is. The B&W is perfect for it and I really like the fact that the texture shows through on both the tape and the back cloth. The positioning of the needle anchors the whole picture.

great shot, and possibly a very good 'stock shot'

I really thought this would be in the top 5.. But then again I knew you would get stung by those who define distance as being far away.. unlucky mate.

Can't believe those 1s,2,3s & 4s though.

I looked at it several times. I like the concept and the composition. The B&W was an excellent choice, driving attention where it supposed to be. Bumping it to 10.

It does not really communicate "distance" to me (in the sense of "long distance"), but it's a very beautiful macro shot!

I am not sure why but I really like this shot. So many lovely little touches, the great black and white conversion, a border that enhances the image and the shot itself. Minimal but not sparse. Very good composition
