I didn't vote in this challenge - but I really like how understated this
is. The B&W is perfect for it and I really like the fact that the texture shows through on both the tape and the back cloth. The positioning of the needle anchors the whole picture.

I really thought this would be in the top 5.. But then again I knew you would get stung by those who define distance as being far away.. unlucky mate.
Can't believe those 1s,2,3s & 4s though. |

I looked at it several times. I like the concept and the composition. The B&W was an excellent choice, driving attention where it supposed to be. Bumping it to 10. |

It does not really communicate "distance" to me (in the sense of "long distance"), but it's a very beautiful macro shot! |

I am not sure why but I really like this shot. So many lovely little touches, the great black and white conversion, a border that enhances the image and the shot itself. Minimal but not sparse. Very good composition |
