 Well this is it, the first shot I have taken specifically for DPC sine late July. I have been really busy at work but that still wasn´t the only reason, somehow the challenges since then have not really inspired me. This is Aníta Brá, some of you might recognize her as she modeled for the 28th week of my picture a week project.

As usual Henný came along to do the bodypaint and makeup and she totally stylized this shot, I effectively just told her I wanted a shot of Aníta with a bodypaint rainbow on and she pretty much did the rest besides lighting the shot and using the camera so coudos to her.

Used 6 lights for this one, a big softbox as a main light from my right, another big one to the left/behind her as a backlight. A small softbox on my right for very slight fill. Two lights with honeycombs, one on the backround to create the gratient in the backround and one behind her on the right for hair/rim light and the sixth with a snoot to just barely light up the rainbow on her back.

Post processing not really much, raw conversion, curves very slight use of healing brush/clone stamp and dodge/burn. When doing the nails we wanted the same order on the color there as on her back but we didn´t think of how the hand would be on her back so the colors were reversed so I reversed the order in post processing but they were indeed painted like that just the pink was red and blue was yellow but the green obviously didn´t need changing. Then just sharpening after resizing.

wow, awesome makeup and colors! she looks icelandic me thinks :)
you could've illuminated her back a bit more to make the rainbow colors pop out more, the first thing your attention is drawn at is her face and not the rainbow...
well done though, it's a winner

very very pretty, i think the rainbow should be brighter though, as i assume it sort've meant to be the focus. I do really like this though!

Her eyelashes are awesome. the only thing im not liking about this photo is her posture, she seems a bit hunched over. Highlights/shadows exposed perfectly

I really like the simplicity of this image, but must admit the eyelashes do bother me. However overall, it is a solid image.

Professionally creative. My first impression was this image belongs in a retro 60's or 70's magazine. The corners of the purple background are bit dark, but I'm sure this will do well in the challenge.

This one will probably rank high just because it has a naked woman, although it is a good photo with not too much competition.

Excellent studio shot, the background colour works really well and the lighting and focus are excellent. I'm not sure if a light highlighting the rainbow a bit better would be beneficial or detrimental.

nice variation and a great idea for the challenge. This image looks wonderful and stunning but still i feel it could have been much more powerful than this. Cant figure whats missing. The eyes of the model are outstanding and connect immediately with the viewer, maybe the lighting on the lower back could have been a tad brighter. 8

Those are some crazy cool eyelashes! Really nice lighting and wonderful job of expanding the rainbow theme through the 'tatoo' and the finger polish.

good styling, pose and expression, background color works well. not enough lighting from the left, rainbow is too dark. strong pixelation on back and arms takes away from the image.

This is really great.

The only thing I can say about this that irks me just a bit are the eyes. I don't like them looking off behind me. I had to look at this for a few moments before I realized that's what I didn't like. Instantly I liked the photo. The lighting is awesome, the little details, like the fingernails are great and really add to the photo. But something was off for me. And I'm pretty sure it's the eyes.

Great job photographing this shot... love your choice of color in b/g too... really makes this photo pop. The detail in this shot (fingernails, eye shadow really shows the level you went to to make your entry so good. Well done!
