Autumn Day in VT~actually the first time my kids have played in a pile of leaves! LOL!! :)
EDIT: open in PS, duplicate, resize, smartsharpen 30%, SFW/optimize, upload
POST: THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT COMMENTS!! ahh, I knew this was a stretch when i entered it, the week of the SoCal fires...who could compete with that?? and here in the sticks of VT we like slow news days...I love the image; think it's was one of my best ever (thanks generous brother who lets me have his 17-40mm!!)
ADD: o crap! duh-me! new to PS, and never gave it a thought that SS would be "customize-able" sharpening tool; sigh.. so much for thinking of myself as a "smart" girl...

| I was just exploring your portfolio when I found this gem. I love the color, action, and joy. It is such a beautiful, nostalgic, glimpse into wholesome childhood play. I'm surprised this was challenged. I wonder what brought it to the attention of the SC for DQ. Oh well, the DQ doesn't change the fact that it's a beautiful shot. |

| It's too bad this didn't score higher. The title's obviously pushing it, but this is better than a lot of shots that run on the front page of a lot of papers, shots of people in the community doing stuff. |

| I'm torn, it's a very well exposed and composed shot with a nice mix of sharpness and motion blur. However it's a bit of a push to Photojournalism, although I guess I could picture this in a local rag with a headline, "Autumn has finally arrived" or something. Good entry |
