Well actually I'm quite pleased with this :) There's is heaps more that I'm sure could be done to improve this if you have any ideas I would love to hear them.
I just did 2 things used midnight sepia action using the dodge and burn as instructed :( and Aly's very vintage both can be found here oh and of course resized.

BTW this is my eldest Joyah who has just turned 11 we were hanging about at school while her younger sister got changed into her dance gear.

Lovely! I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but I'd clone out that yellow spot in the lower left BG. It's a real eyetrap... I really like the feel of this image a lot. You have progressed remarkably.

this is excellent. i'd love to see a couple of catchlights in here eyes, and maybe the whole thing just a tad bit brighter.

This is such a lovely image. You captured her sweet essence so well by using the soft look. She looks relaxed, which is something a professional can't always capture! I love the complimentary colors and I agree... this needs to be framed and hung on her wall! Nice job!!

Oh wow - you did a wonderful job on this. And Joyah is such a great model. She looks entirely Irish in this photo - with the thick sweater and those beautifully rich colors. This is something to cherish. On the wall! On the wall!

An AWESOME portrait. Joyah is beautiful and you've done her proud with this photo. I love the muted greens (and "reds", too).

These softly muted colors are wonderful, and the combination of the seafoamy greens with your daughter's gorgeous hair is perfect! I agree with Deb about cloning the white spot, and with Jen about dodging just a bit of brightness into the eyes. This one's a definite keeper!

Wonderful job engaging her eyes. Could be a little better focused, and better lighting would help add definition. Nice soft colors.

Very sweet, very gentle and so soft. The processing is wonderful. I love her expression and the little tilt to her head and the green of her sweater and background really set her off so nicely. She's lovely.

If it were me, I might try a very slight dodge to the catch lights and whites of her eyes. Nothing drastic because it's a nicely muted, subdued photo, just very light to help bring out a little more of the sparkle that's already there.

But as it is, it's beautiful. Definitely to be printed, framed and displayed. :)

Oh, Charlie, this is beautiful! The tones are so rich. No, you processed it perfectly! It's very professional looking . . .no. ..better than professional because often professional photographers don't take the time to really process a photo to maximize its beauty! This is awesome!

Really nice portrait. It's good to see you didn't overdo it in the face - some of those filters and actions really overdo it on default settings.

This is lovely! It has a softness and gentleness to it, helped by your processing of course but mostly from the gentle face of your daughter. The only thing I can suggest is to clone over that light spot on the chair (?) to her right (viewer's left) then get this thing printed and hang it in your house.
