This photo was taken on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. I didn’t assist this sea turtle in any way; it awoke from an afternoon nap and started for the water. It decided the best way to get there would be point A to point B which so happen to be over these rocks. While flapping and flailing to get traction I think he/she became exhausted and took a short breather before making its final serge to the water. This was my cue to take the shot. He/She did in fact make it back to the water unharmed. The scratches on its shell and the other rocks nearby tell me this wasn’t the first time this turtle has been shipwrecked on this beach.

I sure hope that you helped your model back to the sea when you were done with her shoot.

I really like the low angle on this. Maybe it would be better if you could open up the shadows a little - no I like it like it is.

Seems to be a little lens distortion here and it really adds to the image, the movement int he clouds is beautiful and the angle is just great. I would maybe have zoomed out just a tad to show more distance between the turtle and the water
