 This is my nephew's wife -- my niece now. She was such a doll to pose so enthusiastically for me. She also did the styling.

I took all the comments to heart and think I have a much better version of this shot.

I thought this was pretty clever and you picked funky-looking pencils to use, which in itself made this shot stand out from the pack. I took a look at your improved version and it does have more impact - in the eyes and the tones of the face especially. A really nice portrait - she should model for you often, such a wonderful smile!

This is such a nice picture.. the lighting is a letdown.. It's too orange and makes the pencils too highlit..

nice girl, but I hardly pay any attention to the pencil. I find myself focused on the smile and eyes.

Her bright smile makes me laugh and know she's having fun with the pencils in her hair. The flash seems a little bit on the bright side to me.

This is so cute. This is the idea I had in my mind, but I couldn't pull it off, so I entered the other challenge. Yours would have been better anyway :) I like her natural happy smile!

Composition is great. Colours have been well chosen. Great big smile and some thought put into the tiara placement. For me it's original and meets the challenge. Lighting is a tad harsh. Biggest let down is the eye's. For portraits the eye's need to be pinsharp.

omg!! Cute and adorable use of pencils! I love the vibrant colors and the crisp detail on the pencils...I only wish her beautiful, smiling face were a bit sharper. (this would be perfect in the rainbow challenge!)

I like your idea here. I think maybe it would have been better in profile? I think right now her face and eyes take too much away from the pencils and hair as the focus of the picture.
