 Flower, taken from underneath facing up toward the sky. Light wasn't right, so couldn't get the dark blues in the evening sky and still have decent exposure on the flower.

I love the holes in the petals. All to often flowers are "perfect" when photographed, yet the ones we see every day have imperfections.

The imperfections of the petals is precisely what makes this shot interesting and unique - this is no ideal specimen, this is a capture of a single individual, at a moment in its lifespan that cannot be revisited. Really nicely done.

In reference to the comment below about not having perfect petals. WHAT in life is perfect? I think reality, portrayed beautifully is GOOD. Nice job.

This shot would be rated higher, by me at least, if the flower didn't have tears in the petals. This is nicely done though, I like the transition.

Very brave to go for a BW shot in this challenge, but with loads of similar shots you need to do something different to stand out, and this stands out.. 8
