It took a long time for me to think of a good shot for this challenge. I walked around the UAA campus for quite some time looking for a good flora shot, but nothing really stood out to me. I brought a dying leaf back with me and experimented with a few different ideas. One way I like to brainstorm is to draw out my ideas before I shoot them. That is when the idea for this shot came about.

I started drawing the end of the leaf, then I tore the leaf and fixed it to the paper (using gum... because I could not find any glue...). Then I finished the drawing till it connected to the real leaf. Next I put some light on it and traced the shadow then shaded it in. Finally, I opened up my curtain to let in some ambient light, and took the shot.

post editing:
levels
a little saturation
contrast
crop

Hope you like it!

really well done, except it seems you had trouble lighting it properly. More light with a higher f-stop could have been a spectacular picture.

wery nice idea, just your lighting on the leaf itself is a bit dark. Details are lost in the shadows.

interesting concept and really, obviously thought out, but somehow.......not hitting the mark. You're taking a beating on this one, aren't you??? Don't worry, not scoring, just commenting.
