 At a walk in the forest I shot several of these mushroom thingies. It was a good walk. The complete set of all photos looks great. But they are all edited basic illegal (Capture NX control points rock!). I had to redo this one completely to get a legal version. With control points I could make a better lighting/contrast balance....

No macro lens, just the 30 at the edge of its focus capability. Handheld etc....

Really neat perspective and colors. The depth of field being a little wider than normal really helps keep more of the mushroom in focus and it works very well

I love the focus on the brown crisp leaves on the ground, but I wish the focus was also sharper on the mushroom too. It is a lovely photo.

gnome gnome on the range (sorry), nicely done overall, color focus lighting all good, maybe a bit more of the top of the shroom otherwise nice, 7

Gnome should have cleaned up the twig on the right ;)

Would have preferred the gills in the front to be in focus as well to make the mushroom more dominant in the picture. A tighter crop and slight change in angle to exclude the trees in the background may have been a better option.

Cools shot and I like the perspective. I think the composition in strong but would have liked to see the front of the mushroom in focus.

Not bad...I was looking for this type of shot on Saturday while hiking but couldn't find a tall enough shroom.
