I think this is wonderful. The light plays well with your subject, and the tones are really pretty. Then again, I'm a fan of high key, so what do I know?
BTW, although I like this image, I know that if I were one of the commentors below who criticized the image and you didn't mark the comment as helpful, I'd hesitate to come back to elaborate. You'll get a lot more comments & a lot more honesty if it looks like you really want it.

I like this high key effect and the softness of the image. Very nice composition. Too bad about all those spoiler votes. You got a lot of high ones -- a lot of people liked it, but those low votes really killed the average. I hope you will continue to enter challenges. |

I didn't leave one of the comments you mention, but I'd just like to say that I think this is lovely.
Just hinting at whats there works really well and I love the soft feel of the photograph.
Very nice.

This was my first challenge and didn't know what to expect. I was a little disapointed in some of the comments. Mainly, for the people who gave me one word type of comments like "overexposed".
I was not sure how to interpret that. Was their impression that i left the shutter open way too long and didn't know that the photo was converted to a high-key or did they know I used a high-key to and think it was just way too much.
I'm still hoping for comments on the photos, hoping for some clarification even after the fact. So if you are reading the comments please let me know what I could have done better. Or if you did leave one of those comments please elaborate on it.
Thanks for any comments

I really think you've gone way too high key for me |

Maybe it's high key, but it looks too washed out for me. It loses the detail. |

I suspect you're getting mixed reviews on this, I like it. The contrast is high, but it makes this look almost like a pencil drawing. I hope you'll post the color version in your portfolio too :). |

High key is cool, but this just about crosses the line into washed out. |

I think you were going for this look, but it is very light, too light for any real detail to show. |

Shadows need to be darker. Needs more midrange contrast. But otherwise is interesting. Would like to see what you could do with this shot when not constrained by basic editing rules. |

I'm not a high key fan and i have never been able to pull one off when I have tried. I don't think the dpc voters will rate it as high as it should be. |

I'm on the fence about this effect, I like it but then I feel it's too washed out. Hmmm |

I like the high key, but i think it was a little overdone, maybe it's that it is not in perfect focus. I'm not sure what it is, but the image seems a little blurry everywhere. I like it though |

This shot is really blown out. It is kind of distracting from the subject. |
