As I sat at a coffee house patio, I was struck by the shapes of the two guys near me that were on their laptops. I ran the "stark" filter with virtual photographer and got this cool contrast and shapely shot.

Love the b&w treatment. I find the laptop cutting the cup in half quite interesting.

I'm with Muck. We all scream for ice cream. Oh wait! That's the wrong saying. :P

I like it. Took me a couple of secs to figure out what the shape(s) were, but I think that is what's great about art. Makes you stop and think.

i love the shapes and the darkness .. i'm thinking my monitor might be a bit dark, coz i've been looking and trying to see wot ken found, but i cant .. i've tilted the monitor to make it lighter but that didnt work .. i can see the cup of course and i'm thinking also the laptop monitor sticking up .. the other shapes are very hard to identify .. which isnt a bad thing coz it makes for a very intersting abstract with suggestions of things i'm not sure about ... :)

It took me a bit to figure out what was what here. The high contrast of that cup against that very dark background draws the eye and then leads the viewer around the picture trying to identify the different elements.

Hey Judy this is a beautiful 'dark' image. The guy I can see in the dark gives this an eerie feeling.:)

I like how the darkness strips the image down to just the bare essentials. It would be fun to do a whole series like this.

nice abstract study of shape - though i think it would do it more justice in print, as my first response was to tilt my laptop monitor til to try to work out the exposure you intended! (or maybe i just shouldnt view photos on here..)

Ah, until I read your description I had no idea what I was looking at (except for the white cup, of course). I couldn't imagine what was "plugged in", but it doesn't matter -- the photo's mystery really made me curious.

Ohhhh yeah! Cool is right. Matter of fact, it's even a bit of an understatement. Moody, dynamic, inviting, and cool all rolled into 1!

Cool shapes indeed! Kinda looks like some tabby cat tails thrown in there for good measure :-) I'm going to have to look into the virtual photographer because I love your processing here, thanks for sharing!
