 A few years back we hired a mason to construct a beautiful barbeque center for an outdoor gas grill using old bricks that had been salvaged from a demolition. I think I can count on one hand the number of times that we've actually used it though because my husband much prefers this little grill which he stokes with collected sticks and natural hardwood charcoal. I have to admit, the food does taste better. :P

For those that expressed an interest in the processing-
Most of my adjustments were done in CS3's Adobe Camera Raw. After making basic adjustments to exposure and temperature, I go to the HSL (Hue Saturation Luminance) menu, where I turn the image to grayscale with one click, and then play with the individual color sliders to lighten or intensify each color (now in grayscale). The real magic though is in the split toning menu where you can use sliders to add varying color tones to the highlight areas, and then separately to the shadow areas. In this image I chose a warmer yellow tone for the highlights, and a cooler blue tone for the shadows. You then have the option of how saturated you want each tone to be, and if you want the tones in each area to be equally balanced, or for one to have a stronger presence. My name is Erin, and I am a split tone addict. :)

This would be perfect in one of those regional "Living" magazines - like Southern Living or whatever the one I used to get from the Central Coast of Califonia was. It just has that wonderful backyard summer kinda feel to it. And many thanks for the explanation of split toning. It's definitely something I'll be trying - I love what you do with it.

there is something so beautiful about this , i can't say what it is exactly though. the motion from the fire, the composition and the processing.. everything is working so well in this picture.

There is something absolutely fascinating about this image... can´t figure out what it is really. The tones and editing and motion are a part of it but there is more to it. Let you know when I find out :-)

Was going to grill and then it rained. I love charcoal. Bring on the carcinogens! I'm always drawn to your editing. The tones are perfect.

brilliant photograph .. LOVE YOUR PROCESSING !! ... it looks like water coming out'v the bag .. this would be totally different in colour .. that water would probably be red !!! :)
