 My next-door neighbour, Huw. He has led the most extraordinary life and delights us all with tales of his adventures. Even at 95 he is still incredibly astute and quick-witted, and he doesn't let arthritis get in the way either - we often see him up on his roof mending the tiles! He has a wonderfully mischievous sense of humour, I hope I've managed to capture something of it here.

Post-processing:

I learnt a lot in the process of editing this image. I've certainly never used so many layers before. I rotated and cropped to start with. Following that there are curve adjustments, subtle hue/saturation and levels adjustments to correct minor colour issues, selective USM and a final USM after resizing.


POST-CHALLENGE: Well we were at 6.15 at one point but unfortunately the score dropped just below a 6. The most important thing is that I've learnt a huge amount about portrait photography and PP in the making of this photograph.
