 First try at high contrast, even though I know it's not to everyone's tastes ;-). Had the idea for a Vinyl LP to be eaten in half, then thought of Shakespear's quote, 'If music be the food of love' etc. So, carefully with a hacksaw cut the LP from a template I drawn to try and repesent a bite, made a label with 'Shakespear' on for the link- taken from the group Shakespears Sister and stuck it on.
Used natural lighting as got to much reflection from the flash and shot in full manual mode

Just doesn't do it for me. perhaps if some more detail of the grooves was showing.

this is one of that photos that when you see think:"what great photo!" fantastic composition, fantastic the graphical effect of the image. "run silent" I don't know if this is the complete title of the song but is the perfect synthesis of this image. this is one of the best photo that I seed on dpc in the last 2 years. 10 and in my favorites. good luck in the challenge.
