I *still* love this as a sterling example of the original group portrait. Kudos, Christian!

So, have you read up on that definition of "portrait" yet? ;) Great take on the challenge, and I like the processing.

Made a comment in the thread, but thought I would say what a well thought out idea. Very funny and a nice take on the challenge.

Taking a portrait of taking a portrait. Cool idea. I like the contrast.

Oh, yay!! This was you! I meant to get back to comment on this - this is my personal blue ribbon pick, which granted is not as good as a Postie blue, but better than a rock in your shoe! This epitomizes to me the group portrait. Perfectly. And I'm in a "photography as a record" sort of mood these days so this meets that as well. You're my hero! :-)

Great group portrait. Your processing fits the feel and message of the photo. It reminds me of the processing style "One Hour Photo" labs provided tourists not that many years ago. So, to me, your photo looks like it was taken by the person taking the other photo. If anything, your photo may be a little too well composed for the occasion - perhaps you should have chopped off the tops of their heads? Well done.

A little heavy on the processing.

lacks focus and adequate exposure...too much contrast for my taste...

Nice textural portrait of the group and the photographer. The B&W adds interest here.

It is nice to see people taking photos and in this era of digital photography people now more then ever are shooting everything.

That being said, I like the caputre here in that it is so typically touristy right down to the group looking like they are saying "just hurry up and take the photo already will yah".

I wonder what the two people further down were doing? Taking photos I'll wager.

I wish that tiny person on the shore wasn't there! And it seems oversharpened. But I love the character/story here.

Fun capture of a capture. A portrait of a portrait. Why not! :-)

This looks more like a snapshot than a portrait. If it was from the photographer's camera who is in the picture, it would be a portrait. The highlights are slightly blown out and sharpening a bit too aggressive. Rock and water textures are nice.
