 This has happened to me many times, but the day before this challenge was announced, I was shootin some flowers in my house and playing with DOF. I shot what at the time I thought was this great picture...Then the new challenge was announced. I shot well over 500 pictures (thank goodness for Digital) trying to recreat this shot. I came up with a few good ones, and had a very hard time choosing this one (okay, I became a bit obsessive about it). I hope it does well. After the challenge, I will post the one I did before and some of my other choices and maybe get some opinions. Anyway, thanks for looking

If the photo had something with a soft focus in the foreground to indicate a 'Shallow Depth of Field' I would have given it another point.

I think perhaps you could have had a little more depth of field, so that it was easier to see that the flower was a rose.

WoW ! Where to start. The DOF is perfect and adds to the photo and not done just for the sake of the challenge. Lighting goes well with the photo. The photographic shapes really work with this and give it major impact ! 10

Wow - I see this doing very well in the challenge. Water drops are always so amazing for the eye to see when captured this clearly, and the waves of red in the background formed by the rose are a perfect balance to the composition. Well-composed, exposed and overall executed. Would make a fantastic greeting card. 10
