perfect title, great image, maybe could have filled the frame more and had the glass as the 'negative' space ? Very stark and effective. |

Wonderful photo. Excellent monochromatic. Good detail. Good use of Neg Space. bulb is slightly off-axis w/camera. 9 |

I imagine it was a deliberate decision to have the white glass of the bulb melt into the background but for me that means I am struggling to drawn in the lines of the bulb which my mind knows are there, and therefore getting annoyed at the negative space colour choice rather than enjoying it. I like the viewpoint on the bulb and the composition of the shot, but in my personal opinion, I am not keen on the white bleeding to white in this one. 6, Kavey |

This is very simply a beautiful shot. The light bulb has always been a good metaphor for Edison because he was involved in its creation, and also because light bulbs have been used for decades to show -- bing! -- the occurrence of an idea, and then there's the pun en"light"enment, etc. It's subtle, but to me the negative space (above the bulb) is used to indicate an inviting gap upward for creativity, as if to say, "Here we are, and it's great, and there's so much more to discover!" 8 |

sweet the way the bulb fades into the white, really hit the challenge on the nose, only gave you a 9 'cause the subject matter ain't the most compelling, the guy with the bike rider flying through the air spoiled it for everybody. |

A great idea for this topic. I like the way the bulb disappears into the background. |

I'm sure some others won't but I like how the lower half of the bulb fades into the background. It makes this photo feel more relevant to the challenge to me. Can't quite explain it. |

interesting shot. I like the detail you got in the base on the bulb. It would have been cool if you could have got one of those magic light up bulbs and had it lit up by itself. Forget that. I just was thinking wierd. Good job. 6 |

great use of negative space! is the unlit light bulb a sign of the emptiness of someone's mind? *light's not on.. nobody's home* |

This is a great photo :) I can't really say much about it though... The white on white concept is excellent.. that is very difficult to pull off effectively and you have done it very well here.. .= 10 - jmsetzler |
