Well, this wasn't planned. :) I hadn't even planned on entering this challenge. My wife was preparing dinner and the late sunlight was coming thru the window illuminating the stove and steam in a cool way. I grabbed my camera and mostly took shots of just the static items (had figured I'd use one for the B/W side challenge). My wife accidentally got her arm in a couple of shots. When I started processing this it hit me this could work for this challenge.

Not really happy with the way her arm looks in the far left. The steam is causing the bottom edge of her arm to look funny. Don't have the time (or patience) to really manipulate it in PP.

Lovely lighting. Almost like a candid looking still life that's staged, if that makes sense. Anyway, I like it.

Love the lighting & lack there of. This is romantic in a simple sort of way. Nice.

The combination of the softness, blur and light make quite an enjoyable image...love the steam rising from the pot.

The soft focus was an interesting idea, but I think it detracts from the idea of discerning "still life" from "motion." Your composition looks a little cluttered, but I love the lighting (minus the dark shadows on the arm). Nice attempt!

Nothing is in clear focus - though the blur background is unique

The use of a slow shutter speed has given this shot a feeling of movement, my eye is distracted by over exposed area.

There is supposed to be movement, but here the whole picture appears to be moving because the stationary objects aren't sharp. Maybe it's the natural lighting that is insufficient.
