Good job

Cool shot. Where was this taken? They did something like this by the place I work in Sandy Utah. I didn't get to go take a shot cause I was at work when I brought my camera the next day they had taken it down. I was disapointed, but it would have been funny to have two shots like this with a couple thousand flags. 9

neg space?
09/19/2002 08:17:00 PM
Needs better positioning and the building is distracting.

I hate to say, but this is not a negative space image. The flags are the subject in this composition, and they occupy nearly all of the frame. The remaining negative space does not add to or detract from the photo: it is simply nondescript.

Oh my, yet another "patriotic" American flag picture...

What's the subject? Where's the negative space? What's with all the flags? 1

very patriotic, but I feel like the photo is leaning down towards the right.

Nice colorful shot. I'm not real sure about the negative space part, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Good luck

Would it have been possible to move to the left a row or two so that the building was perfectly centered. That would add to the symmetrical feeling I think. I, personally, don't understand your use of negative space, but it is a great shot, I think. karmat

Great impact in the colour of the flags and the repetitive nature of them. Building in back feels tilted. Doesn't match my interpretation of neg space though. I appreciate this is according to my own definitions of neg space and your mileage may vary.

WOW! This hits home with some punch! I like the colors, the diagonal pattern, and the subject. Good job and meets the challenge. Good luck in the challenge...it's a tough one! Grayce aka Gracious

Not sure the negative space is very active in this shot. I'd lose the building too.
09/16/2002 05:10:00 AM
How patriotic. This isn't an example of negative space though.

This is a neat image, but I think the concept of the challenge was to show negative space rather than relate to it? - jmsetzler
