My first impression when seeing this is that we are looking at the same guy but at different moments - the turned figure, especially, with the downward look, expresses a bit of sadness or regret. The fact that with neither subject can we glimpse any facial expression makes this shot infinitely interpretable. I'm wordy tonight - all this verbiage means I like it! :) |

amazingly good composition - The barred human forms are exceptional. this has a v/g two dimensional, near flat quality in the scene (painted is descriptive). The dark & the light appear on the same plane, and in an unusual way have a similar density of substance. A wonderful accomplishment of creation & characterization. |

A haunting image to say the least. One could interpret this as showing just one person. One figure shows regret (i.e. the darker figure on the left) and the other a sense of detachment (i.e. the one staring straight at me but with hidden eyes.) One of the best photos I've seen in a while. |

this is like a painting, a Modernist semi-abstract painting with human forms to represent some kind of psychological symbolism. but really they're just ghosts. |

There's something effectively sinister about this...the bars, the shadowed figures, the straight-on perspective of the man on the right. The deep red in the skin tones adds to this feeling as well. Looks like an oil painting. Very compelling. |

The blur adds a lot of ambiguity to the interpetation of this image. It works. I am wondering if you are in and looking out, or out looking in, or just passing by a set of bars in a window or doorway. Interesting image to look at. |

Great image. Looks like these guys have a lot of time on their hands. Spooky that one staring at you. |
