These hands make me realise how blessed I am. I see them often as she is a good friend of mine. I've watched the slow insidious progress of this disease over the years, seen the pain, the nodules forming on her fingers and hands. Rheumatoid arthritis is a very cruel disease. She is an amazing lady, very strong and brave, tries not to let her condition slow her down.

This is such a strong image! The deformed hands almost make you completely forget anything else in the image. Then you notice the tiny camera and just imagine the pain she must have just to use those tiny buttons. A very powerful shot.

as a thumb i was unsure wot i would find when i opened it up .. love this photograph .. we all have our blessings and our curses, or the things that make us curse possibly !!! .. being obsessed with photography i love how those wretched hands are holding a camera !! .. i'd say one of her blessings is that you are her friend .. a person who tries to understand and accommodate our frailties is a wonderful blessing indeed .. i cant even imagine how difficult it would be for her .. :)

The human spirit is an amazing thing, very resilient. great shot and I also like the contrast of old hands and new technology. Well done!
