I used a Cokin hard edged 2 stop GND filter and metered for the big rock. For those that have never been, as the sun goes down, the valley goes dark and Half Dome gets the last light of the day.I also had a circular polarizer to bring out the reflections in the water. Taken from Sentinel bridge. Rotated, cropped, selective color, curves, shadows/highlights, USM, little NI, Save for Web.
I hope it does well, probably not going to be the normal silhouette in the challenge. I also realize that this is one of the times I am not really following what the description says as the sun is behind me and the trees are not back lit but in shadow, but the reflection is caused by the light bouncing off of Half dome. Interested to see how this one does. |

| This is a different take on half dome, or at least one that I haven't seen this one. As such that is a plus. Love the way the trees funnel you in and the contrast against the blue. |

| that blue bright stripe in the middle is so distracting. I would have liked a more symetrical crop. The reflected image shows better detail and that does not look natural |
