w00t! Wow! I really appreciate all your votes, comments, and PM's. Thank you all very, very much!

It has been exactly one year to the week when I actually paid to become a member. I was only a registered user for about nine months before becoming a "blue shirt" member. I guess my first year's membership has really paid off--so what if it took me 51 entries. ;-)

What I am also proud of, is to be one of the first Canon EOS-40D entries to ribbon (if not the first).

By the way, as if you couldn't tell, the Huntington Beach pier is one of my favorite subjects. You can go there every day and never capture the same image. I travel extensively for my job and have been (and lived) in many places and there is no place I'd rather live than in Huntington Beach, California!

Congratulations on your ribbon and the first for the 40D! This a great capture of the pier at sunset. I like going to HB pier also. Maybe I'll see you there sometime. I'm the gray-haired lady with the 40D. (For the next few months I'll be on crutches -- that should make it easier to spot me.)

Just a beautiful shot. I was actually here earlier this year shooting surfers off this beautiful pier, near where I was born. Lovely shot. This should go in the diner right across the street in a little breakfast place we went to. Congrats on a beautiful shot and the Ribb.

Thanks for upping my green with envy disorder about the 40D :) I've been eyeballing that one or the 5D for a while now.

I have a feeling tho that it's not your camera that won this ribbon, but your talent and your eye! Congratulations! I don't think it's a fluke and expect to see more ribbons from you in no time :)
