 A low budget shoot to say the least. ;-)

Tricky to get a penny to stay ballanced in the exact orientation you want, and stay balanced while adjusting the light and camera. Originaly I tried this on a table, but any slight movements I made (not even touching the table) knocked it down. I eventualy moved to the floor. To get the lighting and camera angles right, I had to lie on the floor, holding the camera in one hand, and a 60w spotlight in the other at floor level. I like how I got both the shadow and reflection of the shiny new penny.

Post production: Crop, adjust levels, sharpen & resize.

just going through the results, as i didn't vote, but i think it may have done better on a completely white background. now i'm no expert, and probably just saying it because it's what i'm currently into, but you wanted thoughts :) good shot, and good to know how you contorted to get it.

Not my highest score, but my highest placing in a chalange so far. I'm happy. :-)

Any feedback on how this could be better would be appreciated. (either in-camera or post production suggestions welcomed)

This is a really cool shot...i just wish that you could have changed the lighting slightly so that the maple leafs stood out more.
