 My first idea was putting nails into a watermelon and spoofing my wifes "Prickly Pear" image. Didnt look so good though. I took several pics of my cat Hairball in hopes of coming up with somethign that may resemble Yankos Red Ribbon winner in Pet Portrait II. This shot here has almost as much processing as the pic of Hairball that took blue in Pet Portrait II. Yankos shot is superb and this is just a poor imitation at best. I will post the original after challenge closes if anyone is interested.

My original
I guess my choice of titling mine slightly different than the original may have hurt me a bit. But Hairball isnt 18 years old - so I went with 8. Oh well. Very pleased with the outcome. Higher than I had expected.

I̢۪m giving this a 10 because 1 it is a fantastic photo, and 2 it proves difficult to find the original to compare it to, so I am left to judge a photo alone, and it is a ten.

Love the sharp details one can see here from the cat's whiskers to fine textures of the hairs of this feline. Colors are outstanding in this composition too. The amber golden glow of the cat's eyes are very hypnotic. Good job on emulating the original.
