My daughter was trying some experiments with trying to light her hand. After several unsuccessful attempts using the flood(s), we decided to try using a Mini Maglight. She liked the results. Afterwards I decided to try it with this woody horse. So this was lighted with a single Mini Maglight.

I love how he's coming out of the darkness, the lighting made him almost come to life

I like using mag lites for pics. I think I used something a little bigger than that for my tomato pic. The effect here for use in black and white gives some energy to the horse. The only thing different I think I'd like to see, if possible, is a tad more contrast to get the horse to pop out some more. (However, my screen colors are screwy at the moment so it could just be me.)

Painting with light can be fun! :) Works well here in your photo. I like how you've faded the light in the back area around what would be the "horses tail".

Great lighting! I would not have though it came from a single Mini Maglight.

Man, these woody things are everywhere. I like the lighting, I wouldn't have thought a little flashlight could do such an even job of it.
