This kind of contrast in a B & W needs a greater DOF and crisper focus. |

Almost too good a photo for the challenge in that excellent quality the black and white conversion does not really (to me) convey a sense of end of life/decay. Great image though which is very attractive |

Edward Weston? I bet a little bounce reflector on the left side would have opened up those shadows just enough to make this even more perfect. This is definitely a 10. Nice pic! |

Left side out of focus. It might have helped if the flower looked more dead too. Plus the B&W looks drab amoung all the other colorful images, and photo does not have real good contrast (white is rather gray). (5) |

I can't really tell from the shot that it's end of life... the message needs to be brought out from the shot, not just from the title. |
