This is what I'm talking about! Incredible shot!
This is the kind of shot that I look for!
One that is creative, original, and fresh.
Spectacular colors and I love the DOF.
Under-appreciated for sure!
Congrats on the OOBIE! |

You're so funny! I actually think this is way better than Mediocre. I love the dof you captured, and the pp is great. What a nice and different take on the challenge. Very well thought out. |

I thought this was such a wonderful photo. And from some of the voters out there, I see that quite a few agree. A very unique and satisfying take on the challenge. Well done. |

I think if this were judged just on the merit of the photo, it would have scored well. But alas, OOB shots don't do well in the 2-second rating game. I think people were looking for 'delicious delights', and this certainly doesn't qualify for that criteria. Obviously a few people took the time to appreciate it -- you have quite a lot of high scores here. |

Well, I'm sorry it got a mediocre score -- because I think it's awesome! Very appealing and creative!

I had to laugh when I saw this one - great idea. This composition is so well done in so many ways - the DOF, the inclusion of the reflection in the foreground, the hints of beach-y background. Very nice. |

Going back thru the images I scored highest/lowest...had you picked in top 3. Thought this was very creative and unique. Additionally, this photo is well done technically. The DOF is perfect for this.
Smile and keep having fun! :) |

I gave up on this challenge. There were just so few good entries. But this picture was a beacon of hope. This is one of the best if not the best photo in the challenge. |

Ha, I knew that you were going to pip me at the post in this challenge and I have to say, deservedly so for such a unique take on the task in hand
Great concept and I love the blurring, The azure blue background is fantastic and I like the image of what I imagine to be a crab (but probably isnt) scuttling along as well
I'll be honest and say I dont know whether (for me) the lighter blue in the immediate foreground really adds that much (though having said that I do like the fact that we get to see the lifesaver reflected) and I might have just prefered it with an expanse of sand at the front
Having said that I scored it higher than it finished (which I think is always a good thing)
Great job |

Michelle, I voted this a 5. I actually like the idea, but something about the specifics didn't grab me much. Maybe a deeper DOF to show the beach? I think I was also distracted by the fuzzy things in the background. If you want, I think it'd be fun to try this concept a few different ways and put 'em in your portfolio. :) On the other hand, your commenters loved it! |

Hmmm, minimalist candy entry :) The composition is very good, as are the colours. I am wondering if a clean life saver would have worked better than this one with stuff on it. Very good use of extremely shallow DOF. ~7 |
