 Shot at Monterey Bay Aquarium Aviary with Canon 28-200mm f/2.5-5.6 lens at 200mm.

Cropped slightly, adjusted saturation, levels, curves (for contrast). Burned sand area & bright area at top left. Cloned a few very small imperfections on the beak & head. Sharpened, resized, voila!
Worked on this on my laptop on the road, hope I'm not too disappointed when I lok at it on my calibrated monitor back home!

I have bumped it from a 7 to a 8 to a 9. Everytime I look at it it looks better. Super shot.

Good shot of this bird. I'm not taking any points away for this, but I was thinking of this topic in a little more traditional terms. I would've changed the framing a little though and maybe moved back just a little bit.
