While this capture is reasonably accomplished and seductively rendered, as a photo, it is also short on -range-.
Both title and image relay the subject poignantly, yet the polished fringes of leather suggest an article of clothing and fashion rather than a material per se. The unfortunate and likely unintended effect is that someone viewing the image is reminded of catalog images, intended to sell a product.
If the article used here could have been more difficult to date and could be displayed more generically, this image would, IMHO, be an entirely different animal.
With a greater tonal range (both in the white and black areas), the photo would be transporting.
Despite my stated criteria, I consider it among the best in this challenge. |

| A good idea that suffers a bit from overexosure and washied out whites in the lace. also I think that more leather would have made it a bit more understandable at first glance. Great idea tho, and meets the challenge well |

| This would be way more impressive on someone. As it is it could be a doily on a leather couch. Its just not the same... |

| Beautiful textures in the leather and the lace. Lighting really brings it out.Soft focus kind of gives it a romantic feeling. |

| I had to look at this several times before voting on it. The soft focus is done well, but something about the shot feels strange. I still haven't figured it out, but I like the shot. |
