Until the day breaks
and the shadows flee,
I will go to the mountain of myrrh
and to the hill of incense.
All beautiful you are, my darling;
there is no flaw in you.
Song of Solomon 4:6-7 NIV

Many scholars feel that this is the most poetic, yet erotic chapter in the Bible, albeit shortest. I do like the fact that God is a very passionate God, and that He is passionate about many things, especially His children.

The Song of Solomon or Song of Songs (Hebrew title Shir ha-Shirim) is a book of the Hebrew Bible—Tanakh or Old Testament—one of the five megillot (scrolls). According to Ashkenazi tradition, it is read on the Sabbath that falls during the intermediate days of Passover. In the Sephardi Jewish community it is recited every Friday night.

The Song of Songs is a collection of love poems believed to be symbolic. The imagery is that of a bride and a bridegroom or a husband and wife - a traditional metaphor in Judaism for the relationship between God and the people of Israel. It is known in the Vulgate as Canticum Canticorum, the "Canticle of Canticles."

Others play down the religious symbolism and describe it as a long lyric poem about erotic love and sexual desire.

The Song of Songs is one of the shortest books in the Bible, consisting of only 117 verses.

If you haven't noticed, I take a lot of pictures of this mountain. I just can't seem to get away from this place. I took this later in the day, pushed the shadows in RAW, and liked the contrasts a lot. It seems much different than many of the other shots I have taken or have seen of this mountain. Being as it may the "Expert Editing" I added Color Balance to the sky and water, and sharpened the mountain.

I was talking with a local photographer recently who just went digital, and some of his images he has done with a purple hue. I guess you could say that this is my purple test and a test or tribute somewhat to him, just to see how the masses on DPC accept it. If not, I like it and that really is all that matters...that and it is all 4's. f/stop 4.0, ISO 400, shutter, 1/400 :-)

and as always, praying it does well...

Michael

Very nice tones, the only thing I would change is the amount of dark areas on the right. Having a little of shadowy area in the frame is appealing, but this may be too much...

Nice shot - Like the tones - Nice composition but a tad more off the top could make it stronger. Nice location.
