 15 Minute exposure taken while in Glacier National Park in Montana... coolest place in the world - you need to go if you live near it and are into that kinda stuff.

Curves + Shadow/highlights work, then tried to keep the noise down while retaining as many stars as possible... regrettably Neat Image drowned out some of the dimmer stars.


Wasn't totally happy with the edit, but am thrilled with how high it placed. Thanks for all the comments. I may like the sepia one better, got to clone out the distracting lights from a car that drove by....

I would have taken more pictures but man, long exposures killl your batteries. I'm also rather unhappy about the amount of noise my D2h produces on anything other than ISO 200, but oh well.

Maybe a heavier duty tripod would help with the noise. I'm not sure, but that may be as much as a source for the "jaggies" as the cam.

Glacier's been on my short list of places to go for toooo long!!!

Great break from the blurred people and cars in motion for sure. This image is wonderful eye candy I think. The blurred stars seem like they've been just a little bit over sharpened, but I do quite like this picture.

Hey ... did you see my Sacred entry? I'd love to know I inspired someone. :)

This is pretty! The sky's a bit too bright, though - it detracts from the swirling stars. Also, the very bright slash on the right side breaks up the nice silhouette of the horizon.
