 At present most lapidary work is accomplished using motorized equipment and resin or metal bonded diamond tooling in successively decreasing particle sizes until a polish is achieved.

My dad is a lapidary, thought the machine would be a nice idea for this challenge. It's pretty noisy too!! The lil water tap thingy is part of the whole thingy, altho I bet people will say it's distracting or something along those lines... but to me this outlined the most some of the equipment that is required for this profession. I will probably regret once again to have entered this 1 and not the outtake!

We shall see how it does. My other outtake is pretty dark so I thought I'd leave it out, would probably be said that it lacks detail, etc:

This certainly shows speed, and having looked 'Lapidary' up in the dictionary I now know another word : )

My only real issue is that even with the title explained I still can't really see what is (or isn't ) going on.

I like the idea, and the crop, but it probably lacks the wow factor that people will be looking for in either having a splash of colour or really crisp focus.
