I didn't get up early enough to do a "series" of moon shots, which I think is the best way to handle the eclipse, but I did get outside around the time of the full lunar eclipse. Here is my best shot.

This is a straight out of the camera with no cropping (converted from raw, but no editing other than to reduce size and add a border).

Shot with a 400mm lens for 1 second at f/5.6 and ISO 1600.

I tried longer exposures at lower ISOs. I also tried using a doubler to zoom in closer (which *really* lengthened the exposure as my largest aperture became f/11). But I found that anything longer than a second and two things happened: the moon moved too much, and the wind also affected the camera even though I was on a short tripod. Either way, exposures longer than a second were too blurry for a decent picture.

Beautiful shot. The colors are great. I tried to get shots of the eclipse. It was a pretty sight. I didn't get anything worth looking at.

Nice one, David. Of course, it was cloudy/raining here so I didn't see any of it.
