Cropped out 50%. Cloned out a branch in the back. Bird feeder in my backyard. I must be the only one with a bird feeder in my neighborhood, because there's like 50 birds waiting to eat at any one time.

My first entry with my new 70-200mm F4 L lens.

A really appealing bird photo (and I love that his foot is in motion).

this is really cool. i think if the subject was on the bottom third instead of the top third it would be better and a bit more of the bird feeder too. I like the gradient in the background.

What a lovely winter shot. The composition is perfect for your subject, as is the lighting. This makes me want to set up my tripod and hang out some bird food on my deck! On my monitor, there is some kind of a "shadow" to the right of the bird. Almost like there is another bird there, but you can't really see it-it extends from an area behind the bird's head, all the way down to his tail feathers. Similarly, there is a "bar" of shadow across the entire bottom of the photo. These are both faint, but noticeable.

Would be excellent if the bird was a bit sharper... I know it can be difficult, especially with DOF if they are close.

Nice focus and framing. Too bad he moved his leg. Good combination. Good shot.

I like this image, but I would have preferred to see you position the bird lower in the frame, making better use of the whitespace around and above it.
