 Built in 1943 by Baldwin Loco Works, USA.
Known as CL MAWD(Meter Guage War Department).
Served the Allied Forces in WWII to meet the increased war traffic during the Burma Campaign.
Loaned kind courtesy Div Railway Manager, Northeastern Frontier Railway, Tinsukia.
11km temp meter guage railway track was laid by Engr Regiment to move the engine from Panitola to Jhankar(its present location) which took 68 days to place PUFFING BILLY here in 1994.
Its a memoir of Co-operation between the mighty Indian Army & great Indian Railways.

Uh, isn't it sitting still? Aside from that, the centered composition isn't working for me, it's pretty dark, and the pole on the left is distracting.

Nice story in the title. Oops. Isn't the photo supposed to do that? :) Interesting train engine. Not getting any sense of speed however. Hmm. Good luck in the challenge.

Steam engines are quite magnificent, and always photogenic.

My only slight issue with this shot is that it doesn't (to me) convey any idea of speed - fast or slow. It might be that the train was actually moving and you have captured it with a reasonably fast shutter speed . . but it could also be a static exhibit.

Nice train though.
