Technicals: I think there is a color cast here. The middle of the flower looks "off" to me. It is either that or actual oversaturation. Sometimes we jack that saturation up just too far (and I'm as guilty of that as anybody). Composition may have improved without the second sunflower in the corner.
The feel: I mentioned this on another Fill the Frame, but what is the purpose of the tight crop other than to meet the challenge? The best pictures in this challenge conveyed something by their tight crop.
The game: OK, you've been around long enough to know that a cloth sunflower may not be the best DPC challenge subject. ;) Next time, splurge for the real thing at the florist. |
