 The night before the big game, the Coach is up late, tweaking the playbook.

This was created shooting the image through a piece of plexiglass, upon which the footbal diagram was drawn. There were some major scratches in the plexiglass that I had to remove via stamping, healing brush, dust and scratch removal and burning. I also editted out some of the play that was obstructing the Coach's face. The change to black and white gives the image a classic, noir look to me.

I really really like the idea you have here.

But I think you'd have a strong picture either with a different guy, or the same guy with a different expression.

A well thought out idea. The only thing I can suggest is that 2 X's and 2 O's are distracting from the man's face. I think the image would be much stronger if those 4 letters (or players) were not there.
